Metro Animal Services (MAS) will celebrate its participation in Animal World USA’s “Kentucky Week for the Animals” by offering reduced rates for adoptable animals from Saturday, June 27th through Sunday, July 5th.

This is Kentucky’s first Week for the Animals celebration, which includes the 4th of July holiday. Specially selected cats and dogs will be available at “pet-riotic” prices, $45 for cats and $65 for dogs. These one-of-a-kind, all-American originals will be easy to spot by the American flags on their kennel cards! MAS will be closed on Saturday, July 4, however animals will be available for adoption at PetSmart, 3580 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, see details below.

PetSmart - 3580 S. Hurstbourne Parkway

The statewide celebration is designed to celebrate and recognize the unique and life-changing role that animals play in the lives of citizens.

“We hope that animal lovers who are looking for a new cat or dog will consider making a conscientious decision to save a life,” said Jackie Gulbe, assistant director for community relations. “Summer is a great time to adopt, because the shelter has a large selection and people tend to have a little extra time to spend with an animal.”

Animals adopted from MAS come with a complete adoption package that includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, a microchip, license (four months and older) and pet product coupons as they apply.
