Ad Agency’s $5,000 Donation Will Extend Hours
at Area Community Centers
In the wake of recent teen violence taking place in the downtown and waterfront areas, Creative Alliance founder and CEO Debbie Scoppechio announced today that the state’s largest advertising agency will make a $5,000 donation to the city to help extend the hours of Community Centers located throughout the metro.
“We are headquartered downtown and on behalf of our 144 employees, we wanted to do our part to help develop strategies and execute programs designed to reduce the possibility of more unfortunate incidents like we experienced last month,” said Scoppechio, referring to a series of violent acts carried out by teens on March 22. “We want to set a good example and encourage other downtown companies to participate in the Mayor's safety programs as well."
In addition to her role at Creative Alliance, Scoppechio also serves on the boards of the University of Louisville, Kentucky Center for the Arts and Greater Louisville Inc., all of which are headquartered or have a presence downtown.
The decision to help fund additional hours at local Community Centers was directly related to Mayor Fischer’s recent call to the community to provide more opportunities for youth development, including investing in youth through mentors, churches and young adults to develop more resilient and productive adults. Many activities related to these goals are expected to be held at local Community Centers, which will extend their hours this summer.
“This is exemplary leadership and a way for Creative Alliance to make a real difference in our city,” said Mayor Fischer. “It is great to see a downtown business stepping up to be part of the solution.”

Mayor Fischer is calling on the entire community to help deter additional violent incidents by becoming part of the early warning system and contacting police at 574-LMPD or 911 when seeing something unusual.
