District 19 to Host Breast Cancer Screening

Councilmen Jerry T. Miller (District 19) in conjunction with the U of L Hospital, James Brown Cancer Center and Ascension Lutheran Church are hosting a Mammography Breast Cancer Screening for women age 40 and over. The screenings will be conducted at Ascension Lutheran Church (13725 Shelbyville Road) on Monday, April 8, 2013 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The University of Louisville James Graham Brown Cancer Center will conduct the screenings with insurance being filed for those persons with coverage. There is no cost to program eligible women without insurance. Reservations are required. Persons interested in scheduling an appointment or in need of additional information are encouraged to call Mrs. McKenzie Combs at 574-1107.
Eligible women: The target is women age 40 to 64 who are low income and/or uninsured. Women age 65 and over may participate in the screening; however, the Brown Cancer Center will file Medicare to pay for these individuals.
