Louisville, KY – Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins (District 25) will be hosting a workshop for Seniors who plan to complete an application for a discount on their Metropolitan Sewer District bill. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 19, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Fairdale Fire Station (7940 Old Third Street Road).

“The cost of living continues to go up due to increases in fees, price of food and gas. I am proud to be doing my part to ensure seniors are able to fill out this money saving application correctly to take advantage of this discount for years to come.”

- Council Doug Hawkins, District 25

Persons eligible for the MSD discount must be 65 years of age or older with a household income of $25,000 or less per year. Persons attending the workshop are asked to bring proof of their income (such as an Income Tax Return, 1099 Form or Social Security Form) along with personal identification (such as a driver’s license). Eligible seniors who fill out a discount application will receive a 30% discount on their MSD bill each month.

The process for filling out this application will take approximately 5 minutes and does not require an appointment.  For more information on this workshop, please contract the office of Councilman Doug Hawkins at 574-1125 or
