Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton will host District 5’s first Community Forum of the year on Tuesday, January 31st at 6:30pm. The Community Forum is a chance to meet with Metro Government officials and voice any concerns or issues.
“It is important to hear residents’ concerns regarding metro services and get an update on various activities and projects underway in the district, such as the West Market St. Corridor, community gardens plan, Northwestern Pkwy plan, just to name a few,” says Hamilton. I want to encourage new residents to District 5 as a result of redistricting from the Chickasaw neighborhood
The District 5 Community Forum will be held at the Shawnee Golf Course Clubhouse, 460 Northwestern Parkway.
The Councilwoman has invited various department heads of Metro Government including Metro Public Works, Solid Waste Management and Codes and Enforcement to be on hand to answer questions and listen to concerns.
Major Jeff Waldrip of Louisville Metro Police’s first Division and Major Bill Kristofeck of the Second Division will be on hand to discuss current crime trends and programs in their respective divisions.
Progress reports will be given on various new programs that are underway in the District including Life Zone and Louisville Grows which have both gotten underway recently.
” We need the public to give us an idea of how well we are doing while at the same time let us know if there is something we need to be paying attention too,” says Hamilton.
