Forest offering discount on Summer Camp beginning next week
Tuesday July 14, 2009
Jefferson Memorial Forest is offering a 10 percent discount to children ages 7 to 12 who sign up for next week’s Creature Trekking camp, which begins Monday, July 20.
At the Creature Trekking camp, campers will explore a variety of habitats and learn about the creatures that call these places home. They will also get a hands-on interaction with several species, including an up-close look at birds of prey with Raptor Rehab. Camp activities include nature study, crafts, science experiments, games, journaling, hikes and animal contact with the Forest’s education animals. All campers receive a forest water bottle. Each day begins promptly at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m., with the camp ending on Friday, July 25.
The 10 percent savings results in a price reduction from $115 for the week-long camp to $103.50. For more information on Jefferson Memorial Forest’s summer camps, visit www.memorialforest.com. In addition, Metro Parks community center summer camps are still ongoing through July 25. For more information on Metro Parks summer camps, visit www.metro-parks.org.
