Metro Councilman Downard and Councilwoman-Elect Green to collect gifts for Metro Louisville Children

Metro Councilman Kelly Downard (District 16) and Councilwoman-Elect Judy Green (District 1) will be at the corner of Sixth Street and Jefferson Street collecting new, unwrapped presents for children of woman incarcerated at the Pee Wee Valley Correctional Facility. Dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Kelly and Judy will collect toys starting Wednesday November 29th from 7:30am until 9am as well as Thursday, November 30th, Tuesday, December 5th, and Wednesday December 6th.

Persons who bring a toy or donation to the corner of Sixth Street and Jefferson Street will not only be greeted by Mr. & Mrs. Claus but will also be given a fresh Doughnut, donated by Krispy Kreme and a hot cup of John Conti Coffee. While all forms of assistance are encouraged, participants are asked that any toy donated not be connected with violence or any sort of toy weapon.

Last year more than 1,000 toys were collected. Downard and Green hope to surpass that total this year.
