Louisville – James Bond, Agent 007 is back when the 2012 thriller “Skyfall” brings action and excitement to the Summer of Free Movies at Iroquois Amphitheater on Saturday, July 13th.

“This is a great summer of movies and free events as the Iroquois Amphitheater celebrates 75 years of operation,” says Councilwoman Marianne Butler (D-15). “We continue to have great turnouts for all of the events this year as people come out and rediscover the wonder of the Amphitheater.”

“Skyfall” is the 23rd entry in the series of James Bond films. It stars Daniel Craig as the M16 agent with the license to kill. The film also stars Judi Dench as “M” along with Javier Barden, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris. In this outing, a breach of security places British Intelligence and its agents in danger in the fight against terrorism.

The movie is free and begins at 8:30pm. The concession stand is open for the movie.

This year, the Metro Council helped sponsor a series of free events to highlight the Amphitheater’s celebration. The Council approved $22,750 in Neighborhood Development Funds in March for free community events at Iroquois Amphitheater.

Joining Butler as sponsor are Council members Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Dan Johnson (D-21) David Yates (D-25), Rick Blackwell (D-12), Mary C. Woolridge (D-3), David James (D-6), Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9), Cindi Fowler (D- 14), Kelly Downard (R- 16), Robin Engel (R-22), Stuart Benson (R-20), Brent Ackerson (D-26), Tom Owen (D-8) Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5).
