Public Health and Wellness Offers Free Diabetes “Power of Prevention” Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (April 9, 2007) Individuals interested in learning about the risk factors for developing Type 2 diabetes and how to prevent it are invited to attend a one hour “Power of Prevention” training session being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness on Monday, April 23, at Oak & Acorn, 631 S. 28th Street.
The class is free and begins 11:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch with them. Phone 574-6663 for reservations or for more information. Class size is limited.
Public Health and Wellness also has a free support group for people with diabetes and their family or caretakers. The group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Park DuValle Community Health Center at 3015 Wilson Ave. Phone 574-6663 for more information.
