Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24) has announced a public hearing for the next meeting of the Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, May 19th. The Public Hearing will deal with concerns over an anti-littering ordinance before the Committee.
“We want to extend an invitation to everyone, including neighborhood groups, to come and speak on this ordinance,” says Flood.
The proposed ordinance sponsored by Councilman Brent T. Ackerson (D-26) requires any “bagged” materials to place in a specific location on the property of homeowners and businesses.
The public hearing will begin at 4:00pm.
Here are the guidelines:
· Speakers may sign up in person one hour before the Public Safety Committee meeting –(beginning at 3:00pm)
· The sign up table will be located on the Third Floor of Historic City hall-601 West Jefferson Street
· Each Speaker will be allotted two minutes
“Even if you cannot attend the public hearing I would encourage anyone to send the Metro Council an email or letter concerning this issue,” says Ackerson. “This is an opportunity to speak to us on an issue that has become a concern through Metro Louisville.”
