Holiday Greetings From 'Light Up Louisville' Delivered to Kentucky Troops

Holiday greetings, created by families and children at this year's Light Up Louisville, have been delivered to more than 600 Kentucky soldiers serving overseas.

The greetings were sent earlier this month to soldiers belonging to eight units from Kentucky who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Families attending Light Up Louisville wrote letters of thanks and holiday greetings. The cards and twelve foot scroll were divided into eight shipments and sent to the following units:

“It’s important to remember our men and women serving our nation overseas,” said Mayor Jerry Abramson. “Residents in Louisville are grateful and supportive of their sacrifices and we wish them a safe and speedy return home.”
