For Immediate release:
Louisville Metro Council
Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh, the United Crescent Hill Ministries and the Volunteers Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will once again partner in an effort begun last year with a series of four special mobile tax assistance clinics on Fridays in District 9.
“We were able to help many people with our mobile operations in 2011 and I know there are seniors citizens and low income families who appreciated the assistance we were able to give,” says Ward-Pugh. “Once again, we are ready to help.”
Four VITA mobile events will be held at the United Crescent Hill Ministries (UCHM), 150 S. State Street on the following Fridays; February 3rd, February 24th, March 2nd and March 30th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Volunteers will provide FREE tax service for those persons who make under $50,000 in Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) per year.
“The VITA program has done a wonderful job of helping people in these tight economic times find money they are entitled to in their tax returns,” says Ward-Pugh. “We could still use some volunteer help; if you have the time you can make a difference for a family.”
While the mobile VITA operations are located in District 9, they are open to anyone who qualifies.
The Friday FREE tax preparation will be offered by appointment only – please contact Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
