Residents of the California Neighborhood will soon have another resource to help them with education and jobs if needed. On Saturday, May 29th the new Centennial Olivet Community Outreach Association will begin its work in a new community development center.
“I want to welcome this new group to the community,” says Councilman George Unseld (D-6) “May their efforts offer yet additional assistance to this neighborhood in improving the quality of life.”
There will be a formal ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the new center at the Centennial Olivet Baptist Church, 1541 West Oak Street beginning at 1:00pm.
“The Center’s main objective is to amplify services that already exist for residents of this area,” says Unseld.
The Development Center will focus on areas such as tutoring, computer literacy, preventive health education, screenings, voter registration and more.
