It is an organization whose goal is to offer legal help to the poor and disadvantaged in Metro Louisville. Councilman Rick Blackwell has invited Eileen Ordover of the Legal Aid Society of Louisville to July’s District 12 Dialogue on Tuesday, July 19th.
“I have asked the Legal Aid Society to come and talk to us about a wide range of legal issues,” says Blackwell. “One of the most important issues is foreclosure because there may be some who are faced with that possibility.”
Ordover will be on hand to give information about the organization and discuss tenant’s rights as well as other areas involving the Legal Aid Society. The group’s mission is to pursue justice for people in poverty and provide free legal services to the most disadvantaged in the community.
The July District 12 Dialogue will be held at the Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, 2120 Lower Hunters Trace beginning at 7:00pm.
Joining Ordover will be representatives of other Metro Government agencies including MSD, Licensing and Permits and Louisville Metro Police. A representative of Congressman John Yarmuth’s office will also be on hand.
