Flu shots are $25. The nasal flu mist costs $35. The Department of Health and Wellness will also offer the pneumococcal shots for $35. Medicare Part B and Passport will cover the cost for those with those insurance plans. The Public Health and Wellness Department never turns anyone away because of inability to pay.

The annual Louisville Slugger Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Sunday November 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If businesses or organizations such as retirement communities, assisted living facilities, clubs or other groups want to schedule a flu clinic at their site, please call 574-5303.

Adequate supplies of flu vaccine are expected this year. The Department of Public Health and Wellness is offering flu shots to everyone 6 months of age or older. Flu shots are especially recommended for those at risk for serious illness from the flu. These include:

· Household members and caretakers of infants younger than 6 months of age

· Pregnant women

· People with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and asthma
