Louisville – Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) will join others for a very special event on Tuesday, March 18th as part of a discussion on Women In Politics sponsored by the World Affairs Council.

“March is Women's History Month and the WAC has scheduled a discussion of five extraordinary women in politics,” says Ward-Pugh. “These women have made strides in their countries by being a voice for women in the political process.”

“Women in Politics” will be held at Saffron's Persian Restaurant, 131 W. Market St. beginning at 6:00pm.

The five women are from the countries of Pakistan, Nepal, and Afghanistan. The discussion will focus on the challenges that face women in politics in these three countries and how the challenges are overcome.

“This is a unique opportunity to understand the politics women face around the world,” says Ward-Pugh. “It is a free event.”
