Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D) 24 will join Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth on Monday, May 19th for a special flag presentation at the Okolona Post office.

OSHA has named the Post Office as a Voluntary Protection Programs Star site. It is one of 1,400 work places across the nation that promotes effective worksite-based safety and health through the cooperation of all employees both management and labor.

“We are so pleased to honor the first VPP Star in Okolona,” says Flood. “Great things happen when labor and management work together.”

The VPP program began in 1982. The Okolona Post Office is the second VPP Star site in the city of Louisville and the first post office to receive the honor.

The flag ceremony honoring the Okolona Post Office will get under at 9:00am. The Post Office is located at 7400 Jefferson Blvd.
