Abramson Announces Communications Team Changes

Mayor Jerry Abramson today announced changes to his administration’s communications team.
Chad Carlton will serve as Communications Director. Carlton was previously Mayor Abramson’s Press Secretary. Carlton replaces Susan McNeese Lynch, who resigned in October.
As Communications Director, Carlton will oversee a department that includes MetroTV, speechwriting, internal communications, public relations and media relations.
Carlton previously worked as a senior account manager at Doe-Anderson Advertising and Public Relations and was a state government reporter for The (Lexington) Herald-Leader for nearly a decade.
Jay Blanton will serve as Deputy Communications Director for Media Relations. Blanton will oversee day-to-day communications with the media on behalf of the mayor’s office.
Previously, Blanton served as Deputy Press Secretary for Mayor Abramson. Blanton also has worked as an account manager at Guthrie/Mayes Public Relations and at Preston-Osborne, a Lexington public relations firm.
Phil Miller will join the communications team as Deputy Communications Director for Public Relations. Miller will oversee direct communications with the public including the website, marketing and advertising for Louisville Metro Government.
Miller was most recently Director of Public Relations for Rosetta Advertising and Public Relations. Miller also has worked for Kuvin Dennis Public Relations, Inc., The Center for Women & Families, the Louisville Visual Art Association and former Attorney General Fred Cowan.
