Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will take Mayor Greg Fischer on a very important ride this Saturday. Her “District 1 Reality Ride” is designed to show the Mayor areas of importance in the district needing attention.
“The Mayor will get a chance to see firsthand what I have been hearing from residents and others,” says Scott. “There were many areas of the district that were neglected throughout much of 2011.”
Scott and the Mayor will leave from the LMPD’s 2nd Division at 10:00am. The District 1 Reality Ride will travel to key areas in the western end of the district: Rubbertown, 28th & Dumesnil, the Parkland Boys & Girls Club, as well as some areas dealing with vacant and abandoned property.
“District 1 is a diverse area geographically and I have invited he Mayor to join me for a second Reality Ride in February to tour concern areas in the southwest end of our district,” says Scott. “I appreciate the Mayor’s willingness to learn what the concerns are and how we can address them collaboratively.”
Councilwoman Scott has also invited former state representative Eleanor Jordan, who is President of the Parkland Neighborhood Improvement Association to participate in the Reality Ride on Saturday.
The LMPD 2nd Division is located at 3419 Bohne Avenue.
