Councilwoman Scott to talk smoke detectors and fire safety with Maupin Elementary students

Councilwoman Attica Scott (D-1) will hold a special event with students at Maupin Elementary to heighten the importance of smoke detectors in the home and fire prevention on Tuesday, February 14th.
The Councilwoman will be joined by Chief Greg Fredrick of Louisville Fire and Rescue and other fire fighters to explain the importance of having a working smoke detector in the home and encourage students to get their parents to have smoke detectors checked or installed.
Louisville Fire officials will also explain the importance of calling 311 to have a smoke detector properly installed.
The event will get underway at Maupin’s Gym beginning at 10:30am. Maupin Elementary School is located at 1312 Catalpa Street.
