Louisville – The flu is something most people would rather not deal with in the winter but is there a way to avoid it? How bad will the flu season be this year? Is Metro Louisville prepared?
“I want everyone to be aware of not only what might happen but how they can prepare for it,” says Councilman Rick Blackwell (D) 12.
The flu and other health initiatives will be the topic of the next District 12 Dialogue on Tuesday October 24th.
Dr. Adewale Troutman, director of the Metro Health Department, will be on hand to answer questions about the flu, clinics as well as spell out other programs on going to lead a healthier lifestyle.
The meeting will be held at Conway Middle School, 6300 Terry Road off of Lower Hunters Trace. The Dialogue gets underway at 7:00pm.
“Dr. Troutman has done a very good job of promoting preventive programs in the city and many people may not be aware of what all is available to them,” says Blackwell. “I want these District 12 Dialogues to help residents to solve a problem or learn about something new going on.”
Officials with the Department will be able to provide information about the flu and what clinics and cost may be involved with immunization.
Also at the meeting will be representatives of Metro Police and other agencies incase there are concerns with other areas.
“We may be focusing on health but there will also be a chance to hear any other concern that may be out there,” says Blackwell. “The Council has provided the needed funding to start and maintain many of these programs.”
