Mayor Jerry Abramson is in Seattle, attending the U.S. Conference of Mayor’s fall retreat, where he’ll meet with White House and federal government officials.
The meeting, which starts today and ends Saturday, will examine a variety of issues affecting cities, including the 2010 Census and transportation projects.
“This is a great opportunity for me to meet face-to-face with everyone from Deputy Transportation Secretary John Porcari to Census Director Robert Groves and discuss with them issues affecting Louisville,” Abramson said.
The White House is sending several top officials to the meeting including urban affairs director Adolfo Carrion and drug czar Gil Kerlikowske.
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels is hosting the meeting.
