Col. Michael Riordan, director of the Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Service, has received the Golden Cross Award for outstanding contribution to the care of acutely sick and injured people.
Mayor Jerry Abramson presented the award this morning to Riordan on behalf of the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
The group praised Riordan’s leadership to make Louisville Metro EMS the first service to be fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
“This achievement recognizes Colonel Riordan’s commitment to excellence,” wrote the award committee.
