“Shrek: Forever After” is August Movies under the Stars featured film on Sunday

Everyone’s favorite, lovable ogre will be in the spotlight when “Shrek: Forever After” plays at the Iroquois Amphitheater this Sunday, August 14th. It is part of this year’s Movies under the Stars series sponsored by members of the Louisville Metro Council.

“This is another fun and free movie the whole family can enjoy,” says Councilwoman Marianne Butler (D-15). “Our goal has been to provide a great summer activity at a great place the Iroquois Amphitheater.”

The 2010 film is the fourth in the animated series and features the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz. The film begins at 8:00pm and is free to the public.

Butler is one of several Council members who sponsor the summer program, which is free to everyone. Other Council members include David James (D-6), Rick Blackwell (D-12), Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Bob Henderson (D-14) Dan Johnson (D-21), Jim King (D-10), Mary C. Woolridge (D-3), David Yates (D-25), Jon Ackerson (R-18), Robin Engel (R-22) and Brent Ackerson (D-26).

“As summer begins to wind down, this event is just one most way enjoy a weekend before the start of school,” says Butler.

The 2011 “Movies under the Stars” series will end in September.
