Historic Locust Grove to host book sale March 13-15

Friday February 20, 2009

Historic Locust Grove will hold its fifth annual Used Book Sale Friday through Sunday, March 13-15, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A preview for Friends of Locust Grove will be held Thursday, March 12th, from 5-7:30 p.m.

Friends memberships will be available at the door.

This is a great opportunity to pick up high-quality books at bargain prices, and benefit a local organization at the same time!

The sale will feature all categories of used books from mysteries to children’s books, history, cookbooks and reference books. A well-sorted selection of more than 12,000 books will be offered for sale.

Books are priced at $2 for hardcover, $1 for trade paperbacks, and .50 for regular paperbacks, with a new section for special books and antiquarian books which will be priced higher. Teachers and librarians with school ID will receive a 10% discount. On Sunday afternoon from 2-4:30 p.m. books will be sold by the bag for $10. Book appraiser Charles Bartman will do free book appraisals on Saturday at 2 p.m.; limit two books per person.
