As a result of a recent rash of crime in various neighborhoods, Councilman Dan Johnson is hosting a meeting with Louisville Metro Police for residents in District 21.
“Public safety has always been a top priority for my office, Says Johnson. “I want residents to know what the latest crime trends are and how police are working to stop this rash of crime.”
The Beechmont area has seen a recent increase in car and home break-in’s. Other areas of the District have also been affected. They include Kenwood Hills and Wilder Park
The meeting is set for Olmstead Academy North, (formerly Southern Middle School) located at 4530 Bellevue Avenue. The meeting will begin at 6:00pm.
“We will have officers from the Third and Fourth Divisions of LMPD,” says Johnson. “I want to encourage everyone to come out and meet with us if you have a concern.”
The Councilman says after previous meeting like this one, crime has decreased when residents in the area become aware of what to look out for and assist police officers in what to look for. Johnson says the key is cooperation between police and homeowners.
