Contact: Tony Hyatt 574-4137/526-3622

Councilman Tom Owen (D-8) and Todd Hollenbach, Kentucky State Treasurer, have picked a special place to show everyone how the Highlands is going green while trying to give some “green” back at the same time.

“Treasure Finders” is a program of the State Treasury designed to return the amount of monies and property currently being held by the State back to the Kentucky citizens it legally belongs to.

The Highlands Green Building is located at 1401 Bardstown Road at the corner of Bardstown Road and Edgeland Avenue. It contains the Discovery Center which is a community room where neighborhood conversations can take place. It’s also a classroom for those who would like to learn more about sustainable architecture.

“I thought it would be nice to show everyone, just how seriously some folks are about caring for our environment by building green and to further assist by having civic minded volunteers to help fellow neighbors be reunite with their lost funds,” says Owen.

“Treasure Finders” is from 6:00pm to 9pm.

For more information about the event, call Councilman Owen’s office at 574-1108. To learn more about the Highlands Green Building go on line to: www.TheHighlandGreen.com. To learn more about the office of the State Treasurer and “Treasure Finders” go to www.kytreasury.com .
