Councilman Blackwell to hold District 12 Health Fair

Councilman Rick Blackwell will hold a District 12 Health Fair from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Beechland Baptist Church, 4613 Greenwood Road.

Visiting Nurses Association will offer a variety of shots from 9 a.m. until noon, including flu shots ($30) and pneumonia shots ($40), on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
North Shively Chiropractic will offer free massages, and a representative from Community Action Partnership will be available to discuss new changes in Medicare and Social Security.
 
In addition, a variety of other services will be available, including stroke screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening and peripheral arterial disease screening, for $40 each or all three for $119, and osteoporosis screening for $40. All four tests can be performed for $129, and can be scheduled by calling Life Line Screening at 894-9228. The health fair will also breast cancer screenings for women 40 years and over. Note: All mammogram appointments are filled.

Refreshments will be available, with free coffee provided by Java Brewing Company.
