Training on how to set up a weight control support group and “Lite – Bites” Tasting
LOUISVILLE, KY – (May 23, 2008) The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness will offer a free seminar on how to start a weight-control support group and how to offer low-calorie (lite bite) tasting opportunities. The seminar is aimed not only at professionals wishing to set up worksite classes, but also at those who wish to set up groups among their friends.
The seminar will be held Thursday, May 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the first floor of at the Urban Government Center at 810 Barret Avenue.
Having on-going support while losing weight or while maintaining a healthy weight is a strong predictor of success. Seminar participants will receive materials and fun ideas that anyone can implement on how to set up a weight-control support group. They will also receive a free cookbook with low-fat recipes, tips and tools.
The seminar is led by a registered dietitian with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness. The dietician is also certified by the American Dietetic Association in Adult Weight Management. The seminars are free, but space is limited.
