Registration Underway for Run Run Rudolph 5K Race
Tuesday October 26, 2010
Fitness, competition and holiday cheer will be in the air the day after Thanksgiving, as the city will host the 2nd
annual Run Run Rudolph 5K run/walk through the streets of downtown Louisville.
“Last year, we decided to make this race a part of our Light Up Louisville activities, and more than 400 people took part in the fun,” Mayor Jerry Abramson, who designated Run Run Rudolph as an official Mayor’s Healthy Hometown event, said. “It’s a good way to kick off the day, and a good opportunity for participants to commit to maintaining their fitness level through the holiday season – which can be very difficult.”
The course for the race, which is presented by Baptist Health Kentucky, begins and ends on Jefferson Street, in front of Metro Hall, winding its way through the streets of downtown Louisville. Early registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Late registration costs $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Awards will be granted for the top three male and female overall finishers in 13 age categories, and a special Spirit Award will be given to the most festive male and female participant under the age of 12. Proceeds for the race will benefit the Baptist Hospital Foundation.
