Abramson: Adult Entertainment Enforcement to Begin in 60 Days
Tuesday December 14, 2004
In response to Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Stephen Ryan’s ruling in favor of Louisville Metro’s adult-entertainment ordinance, Mayor Jerry Abramson today said: “Louisville Metro’s adult-entertainment ordinance was overwhelmingly adopted by the Metro Council earlier this year, and we are glad Judge Ryan has reaffirmed it. Metro Government will begin enforcing the ordinance immediately following the 60-day window the court provided to allow adult businesses time to come into compliance.”
The Department of Inspections, Permits & Licenses will manage the licensing of adult-entertainment businesses, and the Louisville Metro Police Department will coordinate on-site enforcement.
“We realize the ordinance represents significant changes for some adult businesses, however we expect them to be in compliance with the law following this 60-day period,” Abramson said.
