Cotnact: Tony Hyatt 574-4137/526-366

Members of the Metro Council’s Ethics Work Group have been invited to give an update of their work to the League of Women Voters on Monday, December 14th.

“We have been asked by the League to talk about our review of two proposed ordinances which look at updating the Metro Government Ethics law,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9). Ward-Pugh chairs the work group.

The League invited the group to its general membership meeting at the Lang House, 115 S. Ewing Avenue beginning at 6:30pm.

“This is yet another opportunity to explain the needs for the ordinances and to answer any questions League members might have about where the Work Group goes from here,” says Ward-Pugh.

One ordinance is sponsored by Council members Marianne Butler (D-15) and Jon Ackerson (R-18). The other is sponsored by Councilman Ken Fleming (R-7). The Work Group was formed at the request of Councilman Kelly Downard (R-16) Chair of the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee, where the two ordinances are under consideration.

For more information about the meeting, contact Councilwoman Ward-Pugh’s office at 574-1109.
