When Mayor Jerry Abramson begins his sixth year of Community Conversations, he will be joined by Council members Vicki Aubrey Welch (D) 13 and Bob Henderson (D) 14.
“I think the Mayor has found a great way to bring Metro Government to the people and I am happy to make myself available to anyone who wants to voice a concern or ask a question,” says Welch.
The first Community Conversation will be held on January 28th at Stuart Middle School, 4601 Valley Station Road beginning at 6:30pm.
“This is a chance to talk not only to elected officials but the people who run departments and agencies in Metro Louisville,” says Henderson. “In order for us to take care of a problem, we have to know about it first.”
The Community Conversations are held once a month in various locations. The Mayor brings the heads of all departments and other government agencies out to hear what residents have to say about an issue or a problem.
“If you want to know what police are doing in your area or how to get in contact with an officer, this is a way to meet the people who keep us safe,” says Welch.
“While we are there to listen and help take care of a problem, we will also be on hand just to talk with people and say hi,” says Henderson.
