Louisville – If you live in Kentucky, there is a pretty good chance someone has said “they need to clean up the mess in Frankfort.”
On Saturday, November 11 Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D) 9 will give people the chance to do just that.
“Of course in this case we are not necessarily talking about the State Capitol,” says Ward-Pugh. “But it is another Frankfort that is just as important.”
The “Frankfort” in this case is Frankfort Avenue.
Ward-Pugh is asking volunteers to come out on Saturday, November 11th for the Frankfort Avenue Fall Cleanup.
“For three hours we can make a difference in keeping our neighborhood a nice place for everyone to enjoy,” says Ward-Pugh.
The cleanup will get under way from 9:00am to Noon. But volunteers are encouraged to help for however long they can with the effort. The cleanup is in preparation for the Olde Time Christmas on Frankfort Avenue on December 2nd.
Volunteers should come to the Crescent Hill Library Parking Lot, 2762 Frankfort Avenue beginning at 8:30 am to enjoy coffee provided by Heine Brothers along with breakfast provided by the Clifton McDonald’s.
“If we do a good job, who knows where we are going to end up next,” said Ward-Pugh.
In the event of inclement weather, a make day for the cleanup has been set for the following Saturday on November 18th.
For more information about the cleanup call the Ninth District Office at 574-1109.
