Plans for Shelbyville Road corridor project will be unveiled at Sept. 22 public forum

The second public meeting for the Shelbyville Road Beautification and Safety Project will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 in Conference Room A of the East Government Center.

Councilman Hal Heiner, R-19, and the project’s consultant, Gresham, Smith and Partners, will unveil a draft plan to residents and business owners. The plan will include a variety of ways to improve the area’s safety and aesthetics.

The project has received a total of $50,000 in funding, including $12,000 from Heiner’s District 19 neighborhood development funds, the cities of Middletown, Anchorage and Douglass Hills, as well as the residents’ associations in Lake Forest, Copperfield and Beckley Woods. Metro Government also has provided in-kind services for project management and mapping.

The East Government Center is located at 200 Juneau Drive in Middletown.
