Throughout the year, Petersburg Park is a perfect recreational spot for walkers or joggers who just want to enjoy the Newburg Area. On Saturday, December 3rd the park will take on a holiday feel when Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D-2) hosts “Light up Newburg”.
“The Newburg Community always enjoy the holiday season,” says Shanklin. “We have some fun planned but more importantly this event is a reminder of the wonder of the holiday season.”
“Light Up Newburg” will get underway at 6:00pm at Petersburg Park on Saturday, December 3rd. Petersburg Park is located at the corner of Indian Trail and Petersburg Road.
Food and light refreshments will be provided for the event. Before the night is over, Santa & Mrs. Claus will be on hand to distribute gifts to children in the area.
This year 10 bicycles will be given away along with 22 games. Children must be present to win.
“I want to invite everyone to come out and enjoy some holiday cheer with us,” says Shanklin. “Bring your singing voice because I am sure everyone knows a carol or two. This is something for the whole family.”
