Louisville – With the coming of fall, among areas around Metro Louisville are celebrating with festivals.
“We are fortunate many of our neighborhoods are good places to live and raise families,” says Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3. “So it is good to get together and have some fun.”
Woolridge and the Hallmark Neighborhood are hosting an annual block party on Saturday, October 14th, 2006. The party will be held on Cypress Street between Dixdale and Oregon Avenue. The party will be held from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
“While this is a fun event for all who live in the area it is also a chance to learn more about the Hallmark Neighborhood Association and what it can do for residents,” says Woolridge.
Free food and soft drinks will be available to everyone.
There will also be prizes for the family with the most family attending, oldest and youngest participant both male and female. There will also be a prize for the family that has lived the Hallmark Neighborhood the longest.
The Association hopes to recruit new members. It meets on the second Monday of every month at Southern Star Baptist Church, 2304 Algonquin Parkway, Lower Level. The meetings begin at 7:00pm.
“So everyone come out, enjoy yourself and have fun on what will hopefully be a beautiful October afternoon,” says Woolridge.
