Louisville – Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9) is announcing an opportunity for 9th District Residents to get green for going green. River Metals Recycling (RMR) and the 9th District Green Triangle are partnering to offer incentives for 9th District residents to recycle metal from December 14 - 21, which corresponds with junk pick up in the District.
“This is the third incentive event that River Metals Recycling has offered to 9th District residents,” said Ward-Pugh, “River Metals Recycling is a great partner and we hope that this event encourages people to recycle metal items instead of throwing them out with junk pick up.”
To receive the incentive, residents should print out the coupon attached to the District 9 eNews, and bring it to River Metals Recycling at 2045 River Road between December 14 and December 21. The coupon entitles residents to $10 per ton extra for sheet metal, appliances, and other ferrous scrap and 5 cents per pound extra for aluminum cans, copper, and other nonferrous metal.
Part of River Metals Recycling’s culture and philosophy revolves around being a good neighbor in the communities in which we do business. According to Neal Coulardot, RMR Louisville General Manager, “We make it easy to recycle metal at our environmentally sound facility. We are proud to partner with Green Triangle and offer community members a great way to make money recycling metal, while helping to preserve and protect our environment.” RMR’s River Road metal recycling facility offers the general public metal recycling that is fast, friendly, and makes it easy to “go green”. RMR is open Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 4:00, and Saturday from 7:30 – noon. The phone number is (502) 585-5331.
