Louisville, KY; Representatives from Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the Louisville Metro Council will meet Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Zoo Vision, located inside the Louisville Zoo (1100 Trevilian Way). Approximately 12 elected officials from the two largest cities in the Commonwealth of Kentucky will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in a continuation of discussions held over the past year in search of improved relations between both cities and the betterment of Kentucky.
During the meeting, Louisville Metro Councilman Robin Engel (District 22) and Lexington-Fayette Urban County Councilman Jay McChord (District 9) will brief colleagues on recent accomplishments and progress and discuss numerous projects anticipated in the two communities in coming years.
Facilitated by Dr. Paul Coomes of the University of Louisville and Steve Byars of the University of Kentucky, Councilmember’s intend to define collaborative goals for the 2008 Kentucky General Assembly, discuss the Commonwealth’s funding formulas, define potential project funding and outline communication goals between the cities. Council members will also be briefed by the Assistant Director of the Zoo, Mark Zoeller, on the Zoo’s current capital improvement projects as well as the Zoo’s role within the Commonwealth.

Louisville Council Members: David Tandy (District 4), Tom Owen (District 8), Tina Ward Pugh (District 9), Bob Henderson (District 14), Kelly Downard (District 16), Hal Heiner (District 19), and Robin Engel (District 22).
Lexington-Fayette Council Members: Julian Beard (District 4), Kevin Stinnett (District 6), George Meyer (District 8), Jay McChord (District 9) and Ed Lane (District 12).
