Free Training on How to Set Up Worksite Wellness and Weight Control Activities

LOUISVILLE, KY (November 8, 2007) – The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness will offer free training on how to establish worksite wellness activities and weight control support groups.
The classes will take place on Thursday November 29 on the first floor of the Urban Government Center located at 810 Barret Avenue.
The afternoon session will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will teach local employers how to set up a worksite wellness committee and will include instruction on various worksite wellness activities.
The evening session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will teach individual, communities groups and clubs how to set up a weight control support group and will provide ideas for low- calorie food tasting events.
Both classes are free, but advance registration is required due to space limitations. To register, phone 574-5284.
Attendees at both sessions will receive printed information, copy-ready materials, and a CD that will facilitate implementing the ideas of the classes.
