Woolridge sponsors Breast Cancer Screenings in District 3 on October 15th

Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge has a very special message for women in District 3 the opportunity to prevent deadly disease.
“We know that with early detection women can fight breast cancer,” says Woolridge. “I want to make sure women have an opportunity to get the jump on this disease.”
Woolridge is sponsoring breast cancer screenings on Saturday October 15th at the Southern Star Missionary Baptist Church/ southern Star Development Corporation, Kirby Center 2308 Algonquin Parkway.
The screenings are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Mammograms will be offered for women age 40 and older. There is no cost to program eligible women without insurance. Insurance will be filed for women who have coverage. The mammograms will be performed by the U of L Hospital and James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
Woolridge is also partnering with the Kentucky Cancer program, the Partnership in Cancer Control and the Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness Department.
“These screenings are designed to give every woman piece of mind and a fighting chance. I also want to thank all the people who are my partners in providing this important health service.”
