Councilwoman Shanklin applauds the winning efforts of the Louisville Patriots Football Teams

Louisville – October 26th was a very big day for the Louisville Patriots of the Louisville Youth Football League by bringing home three winning trophies and a runner up trophy as well in local competition.
“I want to applaud the efforts of the various divisions of the Louisville Patriots team, the coaches, parents and all who are involved with this great program,” said Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D-2).
When the League championships were over at Trinity High School on October 26th, the Louisville Patriots had won the Mighty Mite, The Junior Team and the Senior Team brought home winning trophies. The Patriots Pee Wee Team brought home a runner up trophy.
The Mighty Mite level is for 5, 6 and 7 year olds. They defeated the Jeffersontown Bulldogs by a score of 20 to 14 and ended their season undefeated 10 -0.
The Patriots Junior Team for 10 and 11 year olds beat Oldham County 20 -0 in their Championship Game and finished their season 9-1.
The Senior Team for 12 to 13 year olds were victorious over the PCC Bears with a final score of43 -19 and finish their season with an 8-2 record.
The Pee Wee team, for 8 and 9 year olds ended their season with a record of 9-1 after being defeated by the East End Warriors; a “battling game” ending in a score of 7-6.
“We are proud of all young people who use their athletic talents to make all of us proud in our community,” said Shanklin. “They deserve to be called Champions.”
