Louisville -- Councilman Tom Owen will pedal his way through some familiar areas of District 8 and will also have a chance to introduce himself to some new residents of the District when he kicks off his traditional Summer Bike tour by visiting thirteen neighborhoods street by street.
The first stop will be the Kingsley/Bowman and Seneca Gardens Neighborhoods on Monday, July 2nd.
“My first stop will be to the areas that are now part of District 8 as a result of redistricting,” says Owen. “It is important for those folks to get to know me and how they can get in touch with my office.”
Owen began the bike tours many years ago in an effort to make himself more accessible to the people of District 8. “It’s a great way for me to see the District first hand, street by street, house by house and enjoy a porch sit here and there along the way.”
“There is nothing formal about it, I ride through every street in the District and if people want to talk about an issue or concern, I am there to listen,” says Owen.
