Metro Parks, Councilwoman Shanklin hosting 2nd master planning meeting for Petersburg Park
Tuesday May 18, 2010
The master planning process for Petersburg Park in the Newburg neighborhood continues with a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at the Newburg Community Center, 4810 Exeter Avenue.
Consultants for the project and Metro Parks staff will present alternative concept plans for public review and continue to seek the public’s input on the project. Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin, who represents the surrounding district for the Metro Council, said she hopes her constituents continue to attend the Petersburg meetings and will take a vested interest in its future.
“I’d like to encourage all nearby residents and users of Petersburg Park to come to the May 25 meeting,” Shanklin said. “The best way to ensure park improvements is through continued participation and involvement in this process.”
