Councilwoman Mary C. Woolridge (D) 3 will be on hand to help celebrate Shively Fest 2007, June 29th through June 30th.
“The city of Shively has done a wonderful job of bringing together food, fun and festivities for the entire family,” says Woolridge. “The 10th Annual Shively Fest 2007 is a good way to enjoy the summer for the last weekend in June.”
Shively Fest will begin at 6:00pm on Friday, June 29th with rides and vendors at the Shively City Hall, 3920 Dixie Highway. Activities will also be held at the Shively Park Tennis Courts.
Woolridge will be available in a booth to talk with District 3 residents. “Stop by and say hello,” says the Councilwoman. “This should be a very relaxed atmosphere and I want to enjoy the weekend with the city of Shively.”
The event continues on Saturday morning, June 30th with a pancake breakfast served by the Shively Lions Club and Shively Area Ministries from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. The cost is 5 dollars per person. All proceeds will help support the two groups with their charitable programs.
“I would encourage everyone to take advantage of the good pancakes that will be offered. The Lions Club and the Area Miniseries do very good work,” says Woolridge. “When we support them we help our community.”
Shively Fest 2007 will also feature a Horseshoe tournament and a Cornhole tournament on Friday and Saturday. In addition to the festivities there will be a Karaoke Contest on Friday night and live music both nights. Saturday night Shively Fest will conclude with a superb firework display.
