It is an opportunity for those who cannot afford it to get some free legal advice and help with life planning in the event of a tragedy. Councilwoman Ward-Pugh and Louisville’s Legal Aid Society are offering a Will Clinic on Saturday, January 30th.

“I want to encourage anyone who lacks the finances and has been concerned about not having a will to take advantage of this clinic for your own peace of mind,” says Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh (D-9).

The Will Clinic will offer assistance for those who may wish to fill out a will, a living will or are looking into granting power of attorney to a member of the family or a friend.

The clinic will take place at United Crescent Hill Ministries, 150 South State Street. The hours are 9:00am to 12:00pm. Enjoy free coffee from Heine Brothers and snacks will be available.

“There are many lawyers in Metro Louisville who volunteer their time to help those in need of legal aid such as this,” says Ward-Pugh. “But you do need to make an appointment for help.”

To make an appointment for the Will Clinic, call the Louisville Legal Aid Society at 502- 584-1254 ext.3166. Those who need assistance must make an appointment no later than January 18th. Clients must also meet federal poverty guidelines in order to attend.
