Fourth District Councilman Willie Bright will help cut the ribbon on the new 'Café Dosker Stop & Shop' at noon on Wednesday at Dosker Manor, 413 E. Muhammad Ali Blvd. The ribbon cutting will be followed by a tour of the store and reception.

The Dosker Manor Resident Council received a $100,000 HUD grant to open the convenience-type store on-site. Residents will be employed to work as clerks and stock persons in the store, which will carry a variety of groceries as well as fountain drinks, pre-packaged sandwiches, ice cream, fresh produce and bakery goods.

Dosker Manor is Kentucky's largest high-rise development for the elderly and disabled, and is home to nearly 700 residents.
