City Sponsors Job Fair This Saturday
Wednesday November 5, 2008
Louisville Metro Human Resources will hold a public protection job fair on Saturday, where applicants can explore jobs in police, fire, EMS, corrections and related agencies.
“We are getting hundreds of applicants for Metro positions, but some applicants may not realize that the skills needed in police work translate easily to jobs in corrections or MetroSafe dispatch,” said Kim Allen, the city’s public protection director. “This job fair will let potential applicants meet representatives of each agency and get a better idea of what each job requires. We hope people will apply for several jobs at once.”
Applications for all Metro jobs have increased 26 percent over the past year.
The job fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the LMPD training center at 2911 Taylor Blvd. Computers will be available so job seekers may apply online.
