This past week, Councilman David Tandy (D-4) returned to Floyd County High School to participate in what has become an important event for students who want to learn more about the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"I am honored that the faculty and staff have invited me back to speak to the students at Floyd Central,” said Tandy. “Every year I am impressed by the program that they produce honoring the life and work of Dr. King.
The Councilman first participated in the program in 2007. It is an event designed to show students the impact of Dr. King’s work with political leaders and the relevance of his message in the 21st Century.
“I believe it is important that we continue to study and implement the lessons Dr. King taught not just on the King Holiday but throughout the year,” said Tandy
