Louisville – Councilman David Tandy is encouraging residents of District 4 to a special event in Shelby Park on Saturday, August 3rd to learn more about a nonprofit group with the goal of finding homes for a special kind of abused animal.

Saving Sunny presents its 3rd annual PITTY Fair from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

“The PITTY Fair offers the opportunity to learn about a group that focuses attention on abused animal, especially those animals known as bully breeds,” says Tandy. “This event is pet-friendly with music and a local arts festival.”

The PITTY Fair celebrates the positive movement for pit bulls and equality for all walks of life especially those animals that have been subject to cruelty and animal abuse.

The event will host live musical acts including Nick Peay, Mac Larson, Mananabango, the Coty Johnson Trio, and Evel Clark. Also on hand food vendors including Lil Cheezers, French-Indo Canada, Earth Friends Cafe, Fare and Square Sandwhich Company, 502 Cafe, Snowie Shaved Ice.

Other fun activities include the Magnolia Photo Booth, a puppy kissing booth, man vs. dog weight pull competition, local handmade arts and crafts, an interactive kids section, and so much more.

“Many of us on the Metro Council have taken steps over the years, to ensure the safety of our communities in the area of animals and pets,” says Tandy. “This is another group that works toward the goal of making our neighborhoods safer while at the same time finding good homes for abused animals.”
